Republic of Legolandia

Legolandia, or The Republic of Legolandia (RoL) is an island country located in the Brick Ocean. It is a federal republic consisting of 50 states and a federal capital district, Lego City D.L. The Republic of Legolandia also asserts sovereignty over a few island territories such as Altis and Yulakia. It is a megadiverse country with the largest population, exceeding 140 million.

History

The Kingdom of Legolandia was a large kingdom rich with history and heritage and gained its independence on June 18, 1497, after suffering oppression through domination from a number of invasions over a period of hundreds of years. The Kingdom of Legolandia was located on the trade routes of the continent and had plains, mountain ranges with minerals, and large coastal regions.

Prior to gaining independence, the kingdom was ruled by empires who sought to dominate the infrastructure, economy, and guild cities within the kingdom. Although the invading forces tried everything within their power to conquer the kingdom, the people of the Kingdom of Legolandia retained their identity as craftspeople, engineers, and highly structured guild cities. The guild cities were made up mostly of architects and businessmen.

Eventually, there was increasing resistance against foreign domination as the guild cities developed further into organized entities with a greater degree of self-reliance. The leaders of these cities created councils that were able to regulate production, organize trade lines, and make sure that necessary resources were still being supplied even when occupied by another power. Through their collaboration, it became increasingly difficult for any foreign empire to exert complete control over the internal processes of the kingdom. Rather than succumbing to the pressure, the infrastructure of Legolandia evolved, becoming more connected and specialized.

Modern Development

Following internal stabilization, Legolandia underwent a drastic restructuring politically and economically resulting in a transition of Legolandia from a normal monarchy to a federal republic in order to deal with the difficulties of handling extensive lands, population density, and sophisticated trading operations. In adopting the federal government system, a series of legislation was passed with the aim of synchronizing law codes, taxation, and infrastructural planning in all the regions making it convenient for coordination in both urban and provincial areas. Industrialization in Legolandia took place very quickly. The old-fashioned method of producing goods was replaced by modernized techniques in mass production with the use of modules. There was heavy investment in the development of infrastructural facilities such as construction of railways, ports, and logistic centers. As a result of industrial production capacity being increased, Legolandia became an exporter of various products including raw materials and finished goods to different countries. Legolandia laid foundations for future growth into a superpower nation in the LCU era.
